Trophyline has the Venatic. Timber Ninja has the Blackbelt Nano. Ultra lightweight run and gun saddles.
My question is: have any of you used either of these saddles for one-stick and rappel? Would the lightweight compromise safety after repeated use of these types of loads?
I have always done some ground hunting. When I first started hunting in the mid 80’s this was pretty standard fare. At 49 the appeal is definitely getting greater.
It is a great way to hone your skills as a woodsman and it doesn’t get any cheaper.
So in all my research to enter this game I really like the idea of one-stick climbing as the lightest and most versatile way to go thanks to Greg Staggs.
However, I have yet to see a demonstration of this method that doesn’t appear to be just as loud as using a climber.
So my question for...
I am currently stuck on this very dilemma. I have narrowed down to TX5 Lonestar 2.0 (single) or a Buzzard Roost (double).
I’m really struggling to make a decision between the two as both are highly recommended. It’s difficult without the ability to get your hands on the gear.
I selected 1-5 years. However, the two seasons I saddle hunted was like 15ish years ago. Everyone I knew made fun of me for buying a saddle.
It was a heavy neoprene Trophyline with large steel buckles and carabiner's and the tether was a long, heavy 3” strap as was the bridge.
